Diana Hammond, M.A. Applied Linguistics & TESOL   ON Language Full-Time English Language Teacher  Diana was born and raised in sunny South Florida. After studying Italian and Humanities at Florida Atlantic University, Diana succumbed to wanderlust. What ensued was a five year stint of traveling the world and teaching English as a Foreign Language. Diana taught English in Thailand, Turkey and Slovakia. During this time, she developed a strong sense of devotion to teaching international students and working on designing engaging techniques to boost students’ connection to their learning. After returning to the United States, Diana became an AmeriCorps Fellow in Oregon, where she built a service learning program model for higher education. In 2018, Diana decided it was time to pursue a Master’s Degree in Applied Linguistics and Teaching English as a Second Language. She graduated from Georgia State University’s program in 2019 with specialties in teaching English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and English for Specific Purposes (ESP), particularly focusing on legal English and corpus linguistics research. Diana is now beginning to feel at home in Gainesville after joining ON Language in the summer of 2019 and plans to put down solid roots in Northeast Georgia. When she is not teaching, Diana enjoys spending quality time with her South African husband, cooking tasty meals and sharing them with friends and family, playing the piano, hiking, and gardening.

Khalid Ibrahim, M.A. TESL/Linguistics   ON Language Corporate Founder and President  Acting Center Director, Gainesville (GA) site at Brenau University  Khalid has an undergraduate degree in English language and Arabic translation, an MA in applied linguistics/TESOL, and is currently working on his doctoral dissertation at Anaheim University in TESOL. He has also worked as a professional translator/interpreter with the United Nations and the U.S. Army in Iraq and in the U.S.A. Khalid has designed and developed various language teaching programs, teacher training curricula, assessment instruments, and has presented at regional conferences. Khalid’s research interests include teaching approaches and methodologies, task-based language teaching, curriculum development, cross-cultural communication, teacher training, and program evaluation. Khalid is an avid reader and is currently working on writing a collection of short stories in English. He also enjoys playing ping pong, tennis, chess, and practicing martial arts.
